The problem
Smartsupp — a live chat platform used by thousands of e-commerce sites — was managing translations across multiple languages in POEditor. They were approaching the string limit on their current plan and facing two options:
- Call sales to negotiate an enterprise plan
- Find an alternative
They chose option 2.
The migration
LangSync has a built-in POEditor migration flow. Smartsupp just needed to:
- Generate a read-only API key in POEditor
- Paste it into LangSync
- Click migrate
We handled the rest — importing all terms, translations, and languages into a new LangSync namespace. The entire migration took one afternoon.
The result
- ~50% cost reduction compared to what they were paying on POEditor
- Better workflow — AI-powered translations with glossary awareness
- API export — i18n JSON files pulled directly into their build pipeline
- No string limits — pay-as-you-go pricing scales with actual usage
Why it worked
LangSync does not charge per plan or per tier. You pay for strings stored — and only non-empty translations count. There are no artificial limits designed to push you to a higher plan.
For a team like Smartsupp with thousands of strings across multiple languages, this pricing model simply costs less.
Try it yourself
If you are managing translations in POEditor, Crowdin, or Lokalise and want to see what the cost difference looks like, create a free account and run the migration. The first 1,000 strings are free.
If your team writes in a language other than English, also read how LangSync handles non-English source files — the per-developer override means a Czech, German, or Polish dev can keep cs.json (or equivalent) as the source of truth while the namespace default stays whatever your team-wide policy says.
